Concrete driveways in Queenstown

Wide finished concrete driveway sweeping past a lawn and timber retaining wall

A driveway is the first thing anyone sees and the last thing you want to redo. We dig out, build the base, set the boxing and steel, then pour and finish a driveway that drains properly and still looks sharp in ten winters.

Steep sections, tight access and awkward turning areas are normal around here, so tell us what you are working with and we will tell you honestly what will work.

What this covers

  • Excavation, base course and compaction
  • Boxing, mesh and reinforcing
  • Broom, smooth, exposed aggregate and cut pattern finishes
  • Turning bays, parking pads and extra vehicle space
  • Drainage falls, channels and sumps
  • Tie ins to existing concrete, kerb and crossings

Falls and drainage come first

Most driveway problems are water problems. Before anything is boxed we work out where the water goes in a downpour and where it goes when snow melts off the roof, then set the falls around that. Getting that right on paper costs nothing. Getting it wrong means standing water, ice in winter and a surface that lifts.
